Who makes the Collars?

Just me! Classy Collar Company is a true one-woman business. I design, cut, stitch, burnish, edge-finish, package, ship, manage the website, answer messages, and handle every order personally. When you buy a collar here, you’re supporting small-batch craftsmanship made with care by a single set of hands.

Are your collars for everyday wear or just special occasions?

Both. I make rugged, working-dog-tested collars for daily use and ornate, crystal-covered designs for the spotlight. Whether your dog is a field K9, a show dog, or a pampered pet, they deserve something that fits their lifestyle and their personality.

What makes your collars different?

Every collar is entirely handmade by me, one at a time, using premium vegetable-tanned leather and imported crystals or metalwork. No machines, no mass production. Just artisan craftsmanship focused on durability, style, and individuality.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Because every piece is handmade and custom-fitted, I don’t accept returns. However, I stand behind my work 100%. If there’s ever an issue, contact me and I’ll work with you to make it right.

How do I care for my leather collar?

Proper care helps your collar last for years. I have a full guide with tips on cleaning, conditioning, and protecting your collar on my Leather Care page - check it out for everything you need to know!

What do terms like “lining,” “taper,” and “overlay” mean?

I get this question a lot! To help, I’ve created a visual guide that explains the different parts and design options of my collars. You can find it on my Anatomy of a Collar

Why don't you have brightly colored pigmented leathers I see other makers use?

These leathers certainly are beautiful! Their color comes from a pigmented finish - essentially a type of paint. While easy to clean, this coating creates a plastic-like feel and blocks the leather from absorbing conditioner. Oils and waxes are also not used to create these leathers so they are often a bit more stiff and firm. The kind that has a natural unpigmented back can be conditioned, but repeated or over application of conditioner may negatively affect the pigment side. The process of decorating collars with crystals and spots requires small cuts be made into the leather, and these pigmented leathers can rip or tear visible lines on the collar from those cuts over time. I might include some of these leathers for limited release in the future but they don't meet the expectations of durability and care for a Classy Collar Co collar or leash.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time I only ship to a handful of countries. If you are interesting in a CCC collar please reach out via Facebook or e-mail ClassyCollarCompany@gmail.com and we can discuss the process!

What is Turnaround?

Turnaround is the time between placing your Made to Order collar and the day it ships. This can vary based on order volume, supply restocks, and unexpected delays (like illness or emergencies). I keep the current turnaround time posted in multiple places on the site, and I’m always happy to answer questions — please allow 24–48 hours for a reply.

How do I choose the right size?

Getting the perfect fit is important! I’ve put together a simple step-by-step guide to help you measure correctly for your dog’s collar. Check out my Sizing Guide page for detailed instructions and tips.

Do you offer a guarantee on your products?

Yes. I stand behind every collar I make. For details on repairs, warranties, and what’s covered, please see my Product Guarantee page
